1. What is your role and what does a typical day look like for you?

I am the Manager of Quality Improvement and Special Projects at a long term care home. My role includes overseeing the quality improvement plan, onboarding and training new staff, and ensuring emergency preparedness. A typical day involves analyzing data and trends to implement best practices that enhance resident care and safety, while collaborating with teams to improve service delivery and compliance.

2. How did you find your way into municipal work?

I was drawn to municipal work because it offered the opportunity to be part of a leadership team focused on innovation and excellence in service delivery. I have always believed that quality care is a community responsibility, and this role allows me to put that into action by supporting residents, staff, and families across Windsor.

3. What part of your work has the biggest impact on your community?

Building strong community partnerships has the greatest impact. These connections keep residents engaged with the broader community, fostering a sense of belonging and improving overall well-being. It also strengthens the relationship between our home and the community.

4. What is one moment, project, or accomplishment you’re proud of?

I am proud to have completed my Certificate in Long-Term Care Executive Leadership through the municipality’s education support program, achieving a grade of 95%. This strengthened my leadership skills and enhanced my ability to drive quality improvement initiatives that benefit both residents and staff.

5. What’s something people might be surprised to learn about your job?

People may be surprised that my role is not just about policies and audits. It is about improving the daily lives of residents. I spend a great deal of time listening to families, residents, and staff to make care more person centered, combining data driven decisions with compassion and collaboration.

6. What do you enjoy most about serving your municipality?

I enjoy being part of a team whose vision aligns with the City of Windsor’s commitment to accountability and service improvement. It is rewarding to know our work directly impacts residents and their families, and that we are creating positive change together.

7. What are you looking forward to in the year ahead?

I am looking forward to implementing training programs that strengthen staff skills and support the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care. These efforts will focus on quality improvement, communication, and innovative approaches that enhance resident well-being.

8. Anything else you’d like people to know about your role, your team, or your municipality?

Our leadership team is highly collaborative and focused on continuous improvement. We are always exploring new approaches to person centered care, with the shared goal of enhancing quality of life for residents and delivering exceptional service to the community.
